Margaret Hahn

July 6, 1916 — June 10, 2021

Margaret M. Hahn, age 104, passed away at 7:51 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Bel Air Care Center.

She was born July 6, 1916 near Alliance, Ohio to Otto and Susann (Haldiman) Hofer.

A 1935 graduate of Alliance High School, Margaret attended the former Canton Business College.

She had worked as a sales and payroll clerk for the former Isaly Dairy Company and Galanot Products Company, and in 1976, retired from the Beverly Dress Shop.

During WWII, Margaret joined her late husband Dale while he was stationed at Yuma Army Air Force Base, where she was then employed in the Civilian Personal Office Base.

Margaret had been an active member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ, and served on the Fellowship Board. She was also a member of Knox Area Senior Citizens, a life member of the Alliance American Legion Auxiliary Post 166, member of Friends of the Park, and associate member of Narfe Chapter 364.

Margaret was a charter member of the Alliance Senior Fitness Class sponsored by the Alliance Parks and Recreation Dept., and in addition to exercising and walking, she enjoyed gardening, growing flowers going to garage sales, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Kathleen) Hahn; grandchildren, Michelle (Jonathan) Peer, and Donivan (Christian Joy Simms) Hahn; great-grandchildren, Bennett Peer and Adelyn Peer; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale D. Hahn, whom she married August 11, 1938, and who died March 28, 1999; three brothers, John, Walter and Fred Hofer, and two sisters, Alice Hofer and Ruth Okrucky.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Mann officiating. Friends may visit the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to First Immanuel United Church of Christ, 208 E. Oxford St., Alliance, Ohio 44601.
