Margaret "Peg" Elaine Matthews, age 86 of the Holander House in Salem and formerly of Sebring, died at 6:47 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 28, 2007 at the Holander House.
Mrs. Matthews was born Jan. 4, 1921 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Clarence and Mable (Lamp) Bostwick and lived in the Alliance area most of her life.
She attended Sebring schools and was employed as a finisher for Royal China Company, retiring in 1974.
Mrs. Matthews was a member of the Alliance Baptist Temple.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane (James) Horn of Beloit, and Judith (Ron) Hubbs of Sebring; two sons, Ralph (Bobbi) Furbee of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Larry (Peggy) Furbee of Salem; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Bernard Bostwick of Westville Lake, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Lee Matthews, whom she married in Oct. 1975, one son, Gary L. Hackathorn, one brother, Ralph Bostwick, and one sister, Maxine Shade.
Chapel Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Highland Memorial Park with Pastor James White of Fellowship Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
