Margery F. Blatt, age 83 of Alliance, died at 12:44 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born October 4, 1922 in Moundsville, West Virginia to Dewey and Lenna (Wellman) Lough.
Mrs. Blatt graduated from Moundsville High School and was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo, where she was a choir member, member of the Altar and Rosary Society, served on the cemetery committee, and taught C.C.D. She was a former director of the Washington Ruritans Minstrel Shows and the West Twp. Gee Haw Shows. Mrs. Blatt was also a former assistant director of the "Man of Sorrow" Passion play for St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, William F. "Bill" Blatt of Alliance, whom she married Oct. 14, 1940; two sons, Robert W. (Sherry) Blatt of Louisville, and Nelson (Laurie) Blatt of Alliance; three daughters, Lenna (James) Geiselman of Alliance, Sharon (Ron) Stephen of Paris, and Martha (Rex) Rounds of Alliance; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Otis (Martha) Lough of Phoenix, Arizona; four sisters, Norma Hale of Woodsfield, Ohio, Trilba (Lester) Snyder of N. Ft. Myers, Florida, Myrna Tubaugh of Beallsville, Ohio, and Frances (Willy) Krabill of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Darrell; and three sisters, Imogene Smith, Maxine Tilton, and infant sister, Shirley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo with Fr. Thomas Ungashick officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Maximo.
