Marguerite E. Schreiner, age 87, of Alliance, died at 9:55 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at Canterbury Villa.
She was born June 8, 1923, in South Fayette Township in Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania to WIlliam H. and Sarah (Davis) Leonard.
A graduate of Robinson High School, Marguerite attended Westminster College. She was an Executive Assistant for the Redevelopment Authority for Allegheny Co. until her retirement in 1971.
Marguerite was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Montour Chapter No. 151 in Coraopolis, Pa., and supporter of the Alliance Shrine Club.
She enjoyed painting, doing arts and crafts, camping and playing the organ. She also enjoyed her family and her dogs, Molly and Rascal.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlynn Schreiner and Cyndia (Paul) Newburn, both of Alliance; three grandchildren, Jon, Lance and Joel Newburn; two great-grandsons, Trent and Parker Newburn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles M. Schreiner whom she married July 17, 1946 and who died January 19, 2005; a brother, Wilbur R. Leonard and a sister, LaRue Luttenauer.
A Private Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Gilbert Goodwin officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
