Marie Elizabeth Sorge, age 83, passed away on April 17, 2013.
She was born on December 26, 1929. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1948.
She married Joseph Sorge, April 19th, 1958, and resided in Salem, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Rose, and her brother, Joseph Mastroianni.
She was active at Saint Paul Catholic Church of Salem, contributing her time and efforts to various charities both locally and beyond. She was passionate about her faith and helping others in their time of need.
She is survived by her husband and three children, Scott Sorge of Burlingame CA, John Sorge of Denver, CO and Brian Sorge of San Francisco CA; five grandchildren, Anthony, Rachel, Gabrielle, C.J., and Gianna; one sister, Helen Swinnerton Kriegel; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to EWTN Global Catholic Network, St. Joseph Indian School in Chamberlain, SD, or Hospice of the Valley in Poland, OH.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Bob Edwards officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m.
