Marilyn Louise Hoover, age 66, of Alliance, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home, with her loved ones by her side.
She was born on June 18, 1954 in Alliance, Ohio to Andy and Nancy (Montler) Sukosd.
A 1972 graduate of Marlington High School, Marilyn worked for Stark Mental Health and Addiction Recovery, and also for American Steel Foundries.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo, and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Marilyn also belonged to the VFW in Louisville.
Marilyn enjoyed baking, music, and playing with her dog. She loved playing euchre and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She will be loved and missed by her family, including her husband, James Hoover, who she married September 3, 1993; daughter, Samantha (David) Kerns; granddaughter, Meleah Kerns; grandson, A1C Colton Kerns of Albuquerque, New Mexico; siblings, Amy (Chuck) Colucci, Andy Sukosd, Diana O’Neil, James (Marie) Sukosd, and Donna (Butch) Schott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Molly Marie Hoover, on August 24, 2017.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. January 8th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Maximo with Fr. Nicholas Mancini officiating.
Marilyn’s family will not receive friends prior to the mass due to the pandemic.
Family requests contributions to Aultman/Alliance Hospice, 2461 W. State Street, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
