Marilyn R. Wallace

Marilyn R. Wallace, 85, Goshen, died 3:35 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2023 at Goshen Hospital. She was born April 15, 1938, in Alliance, Ohio, to Merl and Ruth (Wallace) Kuntzman. On July 14, 1962, in Alliance, Ohio, she married Doney G. “Boots” Wallace, and he died January 22, 2015.

Surviving are her daughter,  Cheri Holmes, New Paris, Indiana,  son, Gary (Kathryn) Wallace, Lakewood Ranch, FL,  2 grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley) Holmes, Indianapolis, Indiana, Colin (Samantha) Holmes, Indianapolis, Indiana,  2 step-grandchildren, Sean Gachter, Rockaway Beach, New York, Alison Gachter, Binghamton, New York,  and 2 great-grandchildren, Liam Doney Holmes and Kinsliegh Holmes.

Preceding her in death are her parents and husband, Doney G. “Boots” Wallace.

Marilyn worked at a bank until she was married.  She then worked for an attorney and at Eagle Uniform. Marilyn was a 1956 graduate of Alliance High School, Alliance, Ohio. She was a member at Goshen First Church, and a member of the sewing circle at church. She enjoyed knitting, including making hats for babies and prayer shawls for cancer patients.  She was a member of Goshen General Hospital Auxiliary.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6th at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, Ohio 44601.  Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit, Ohio.

Memorial donations may be directed to Goshen First Church or Goshen General Hospital Auxiliary.
