Marion Lucille Waggoner, age 90, of Alliance passed away at 3:25 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at her daughter's home.
She was born June 25, 1919 in Wellsville, Ohio to Howard O. and Mary (Costello) Johnson.
Lucille was a graduate of Wellsville High School and the former Boyd Business College in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and was a past member of the United Methodist Women's Group and Child Study Club in E. Liverpool. She also was past president of the Coterie Club in E. Liverpool, past president of band parents at E. Liverpool High School, program chairman of Alliance AARP, Christian Women's Club, Alliance Area Senior Citizens, Alliance Women's Club, Order of Eastern Star of E. Liverpool, Mt. Union Women's Club, and committee member of the Alliance Community Concert Association.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Waggoner of Alliance; special friend, Dan Ramser of Minerva; four grandchildren, Ryan Elmiger and Ryan's fianc? (Regina Bernard), Jared (Trinity) Elmiger, Lindsay (Keith) Hartfelder, Jenna (Justin) Gray; two brothers, Ralph (Jane) Johnson of Freedom, Pa. and Richard C. (Victoria) Johnson of Oceanside, Ca; and several nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Charles R. Waggoner, whom she married June 15, 1944 and who died in May 1985; her son, Gary Patton Waggoner; her sisters, Kathryn Johnson and Jean L. Barnett; and a brother, Robert E. Johnson.
Services will be held at Noon, Monday, January 25, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Adkins and Sue DeHoff officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon prior to the service. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in E. Liverpool.
