Marjorie M. Balderson

Marjorie M. Balderson, age 100, passed away at 11:01 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017.
She was born June 6, 1917 in Fairmont, West Virginia to William and Mattie (Hamilton) Miller.
A graduate of East Fairmont High School, Marjorie worked at G. C. Murphy in Fairmont, West Virginia while she was in high school; and worked as a cook at Copeland Oaks for eight years.
Marjorie was a member of Fairmount Emmanuel Christian Church of Alliance, and in 1940 became a member of Walnut Grove Methodist Church in Fairmont.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting and most of all, being a devoted wife and mother.
She will be loved and missed by her family, including daughters, Marlyn (Alan) Crawford, of Westfield, Indiana, Rebecca Mayle of Alliance, Faith (Drewford) Mayle of Hartville; sons, David (Patricia) Balderson of Alliance and Daniel Balderson of Alliance; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Elizabeth Shanks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton W. Balderson, whom she married August 12, 1936, and who died August 21, 1972; one brother, Kenneth Miller; one sister, Kathleen Haught; one son, Thomas Balderson; and one grandson, Todd Mayle.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Crawford officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
