Marjorie Ann (Betz) Mehnert, age 85, of Alliance, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at Community Care Center.
She was born September 13, 1926, in Alliance, Ohio, to Leo and Violet (Sell) Betz.
Marjorie attended Alliance High School and was a lifelong resident of Alliance.
She was a former member of the Union Avenue Church of Christ and the Radiant 60's. She enjoyed going to parades, and watching football and basketball games at Alliance High School. Marjory also enjoyed bus trips with Rev. James and Maxine White and her best friend, Mary Popa.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond H. Mehnert, of Alliance, whom she married January 18, 1963; daughter, Laurie L. (Greg) Legros of Alliance; son, Jerry Streza of Atlanta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Renee Streza Lee, Shawn Tate Streza, Gregory Steven, Hayley Rae and Brody David Legros; great-grandchildren, Brandon Lee and Shawn Tate Streza's son; sister, Harriette Betz; and brother, Roger Betz of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruby Brown and Dorothy Kommel; and a brother Charles Betz.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011, at Fairmount Memorial Park with Rev. James White officiating.
