Marjorie J. Winters

Marjorie J. Winters, age 76, of Canton, Ohio, longtime resident of Alliance, passed away at 6:50 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born September 28, 1942 in Salem, Ohio, to Ernest and Gertrude (Nace) Childs.
Marjorie was a graduate of David Anderson High School in Lisbon, Ohio, and was formerly employed by the J.C. Penney Company.
She was a member of the North Benton Presbyterian Church, where she formerly served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and worked with the teen organization "Good News". She was also a Cub Scout Leader and past president of the South Lincoln P.T.O. She loved playing cards with her card club and gambling at various casinos. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and watching college and professional football teams.
Survivors include her husband, Gail M. Winters of Canton, whom she married April 16, 1966; two sons, Mark Winters of Canton and Valas (Amy) Winters of Green; daughter, Beth Lewis of Canton; seven grandchildren, Sean, Jessica, Adam, Abbigail, Nathan, Brody and Ava Mae; four great-grandchildren Audrianna, Alivia, Nora and Michael; and a sister, Charlotte Jameson of Lisbon.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marjorie's family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy Medical Center's CCU for their compassionate and loving care given to her.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2019, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Goetz, of North Benton Presbyterian Church officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, January 27th at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society, P.O. Box 7077 Louisville, Ohio 44641 or to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, Pennsylvania 16505.
