Marjorie May (Watson) Dillon

Marjorie May (Watson) Dillon, age 94, of Alliance passed away at 11:56 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Altercare of Alliance.

She was born August 21, 1925 to Dr. Robert W. and Fannie (Pettigrew) Watson and raised in Highland Park, Michigan, having resided in the Alliance area since 1947.

Marjorie was a graduate of Highland Park High School in Michigan and attended three years at a Junior College in Boston, Massachusetts where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Alliance Country Club, Alliance Woman’s Club, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 296.

Marge was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge and also enjoyed her church work, knitting and homemaking all of her life. An active fan of the University of Mount Union Sports teams, she attended both home and away games for years. She also participated in the Alliance community in many ways; including working years as a Poll Worker and Judge with the Board of Elections.

Survivors include two sons, Robert W. (Susan) Dillon of Alliance and Richard N. (Diane) Dillon of Homeworth; three grandchildren, Erin (Larry) Johnson, Katie (Luke) Oskin and Joshua (Lori) Dillon; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Dillon, whom she married May 24, 1947 and who died December 27, 2012; and two sisters, Jane Watson Olson and Peg Watson Carter.

A memorial service  will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev Kip Colgrove officiating. Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church 1200 S. Union Ave., Alliance, OH 44601.
