Mark A. Lerch, age 51, of Alliance, died at 6:26 p.m. June 30, 2011, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born October 24, 1959, in
Alliance, Ohio, to Harry and Anna Evelyn (Buchtel) Lerch.
Mark was a high school graduate and employed as a welder. He was a member of the Beechwood Christian Church, and was known as the neighborhood "Dad" who enjoyed collecting children.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served his country from 1980 to 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Deana J. (England) Lerch, of Alliance, whom he married May 17, 1979; children, Rebecca (James) Simpkins and Marshal (Roxanne) Lerch, both of Alliance; sisters, Judy (Dale) Steiger of Alliance, Sue (Gary) Stauffer, of Louisville and Karen (Don) Piero of Copley; brother, Warren (Jeanie) Lerch and sister-in-law, Jane Lerch, all of Sunlakes, Ar.; six grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and his faithful dog, companion, Scrappy.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Tom A. Lerch, David Lerch, and Jerry Lerch.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
