They later lived in Wooster, Ohio, where Howard worked at the Ohio Agriculture Research and Development Center for 20 years. Marlyn was asked to start the Wee Care Center at the First Presbyterian Church in Wooster and worked there for many years, opening in 1964 and it still exists today. She worked at the Bouquet Shop in Wooster and was active in the Viola Thorn Club and League of Women Voters. They later lived in Hastings, Nebraska and Fairfax, Virginia, and retired in Louisville, Colorado in 1990.
Marlyn was loved and admired by everyone who knew her. She loved children and teaching and was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She loved to entertain and cook and later in life she enjoyed painting.
