Martha E. Graybill

Martha E. Graybill, age 87, of Alliance, died at 7:05 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at Crandall Medical Center.
She was born October 15, 1924, in Alliance, to Joseph James Fitzgerald and Woodie Oella (Nixon) Fitzgerald.
Martha was a 1942 graduate of Alliance High School and a 1947 graduate of Mount Union College with a bachelor in education. She started teaching classes at Fairmount Children's Home and spent the remainder of her 40 year career teaching at Alliance City Schools.
Martha was a member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Alpha Chi Omega, American Legion Auxiliary, and a longtime member of the Alliance Area Retired Teachers Association and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
Martha is survived by her son, Tim (Kim) Graybill of Charlotte, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Robert James "RJ" Graybill, Kaitlyn and Nicholas Graybill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert James Fitzgerald; her husband, Bruce R. Graybill whom she married June 19, 1955, and who died December 24, 2007; and one son, Daniel R. Graybill.
Martha enjoyed gardening, reading and the numerous crafting projects she and her husband, Bruce, did together.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Borton of First Christian Church, New Philadelphia, officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
