Martha Joan Harton

Martha Joan Harton, age 73, of Alliance, went to be with the Lord at 8:10 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center with family and friends at her side.
She was born February 19, 1942 in Alliance to Peter and Mary (Rice) Steed and has been a lifelong resident.
Martha attended Sebring High School and worked as a nurse's aide for various nursing homes in Alliance. She was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church and a former member of the Alliance Senior Center.
Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Harton, Sr., whom she married on February 15, 1969; daughters, Norma Jo (Alfred, Jr.) Steed and Tammy Sue Carson, both of Alliance; sons, Ronald W. Goshorn of Alliance and Charles (Pamela) Harton, Jr., of Atwater; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Karen (Gerald) McKay of Hanoverton and Twila Jo (James) Grindle of E. Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Frederick Steed, Peter Steed, William Wiley and Thomas Steed.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Mikesell officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
