Martha L. Reed

Martha L. (Messenheimer) Reed, age 79, passed away on October 11, 2023.

She was born on May 27, 1944 at Cutbank Montana Hospital, to George Walter “Walt” and Barbara June (Wilson) Messenheimer.

Martha graduated from Alliance High School in 1962 and then Hannah Mullins School of PN in 1963. She started her career as an LPN at Aultman Hospital, and then spent a short time at Alliance Community Hospital. Martha then worked for 36 years at various doctors’ offices. After her retirement, She worked as a scheduler for four years at Canton Community Clinic and was then was recruited by Dr. Dennis in Mogadore to work in the front office. Martha was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Alliance High School Class of 1962 Reunion Committee, and attended Silver Sneakers Aerobics.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wiley “Keith” Reed Sr.; her sons, Wiley K. (Leanne) Reed Jr. and Daniel K. (Kim) Reed; grandsons, Alexander (Gabbie) Reed, Marcus Reed, and Derek Reed; sisters, Sherryann (Walter) Manley, Patti Jo (Donald) Shaffer, and Susan Marie (Richard) Schuller; brother-in-law, Phillip (Joyce) Mark Reed; ten nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and her ’62 classmates and forever friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Jess and Dora Mae Reed; sisters, Mary Lou Morris, Carol (Billy Ray) Reese; brother-in-law, Simon Reed, sister-in-law Murlene (Norman) Reed Marttala; and great-nephew, Christopher Morris.

On Saturday, October 21, in the Maximo St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall, 12055 Easton St. Alliance, OH 44601 from Noon – 3 p.m. there will be a sharing of food and fellowship, with a brief Celebration Service at Noon.
