Mary E. Darnell, age 87, of Alliance, Ohio, formerly of East Peoria, Ill. died at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Sterling House of Alliance.
She was born January 26, 1921 in Walsh, Kentucky to Frank and Delphia (Middleton) Hunt.
She was a former member of Christ United Methodist Church and held numerous offices with the United Methodist Women's Organizations.
Survivors include her husband, Paul E. Darnell, whom she married April 12, 1942; two grandchildren, Todd Vermilya of Loudinville, OH and Jennifer Procker of Mansfield, OH; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emma, Maria and Walter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jane Vermilya and her son, James Darnell.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. John Ferris officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, Ohio 44601.
