Mary E. (Conrad) Grimes-Penny

Mary Elizabeth (Conrad) Grimes-Penny, age 93, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at McCrea Manor.

She was born May 28, 1926 in Alliance, Ohio, to Craigg T. and Florence E. (Benner) Conrad.

Mary retired as a cook from the Alliance Women’s Club after 30 years of service and enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

She was a member of Beechwood United Methodist Church since 1949, Beechwood Pioneers and Church Women United.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth R. Grimes; grandchildren, David Grimes and Elizabeth Holmer; great-granddaughter, Athena Holmer, four step-sons; and sisters, Evelyn M. Reustle and Viola P. Blanchard.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Gaven Grimes in l967 and Robert Penny in 1998; son, Darrell C. Grimes; granddaughter, Tabitha Penny; sisters, Violet Conrad and Gladys Goughnour; and brothers, Arnold, Dwain E., Lester H., Olin H., Dale E. and Clayton L. Conrad.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Beechwood United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Beggs officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be at West Beech Cemetery.
