Mary E. Hawk

Mary E. Hawk, age 86, passed away on December 14, 2022.

She was born on May 28, 1936, in Morganstown, West Virginia, to George and Myrtle (Marshal) Jeffries.

Mary was devoted to following Pastor Jimmy Swaggart. She raised money for the diabetes association, heart association and the Akron Children’s Hospital. Mary was everyone’s grandma; she loved taking care of and helping people in the neighborhood and her family. She enjoyed puzzle books, birdwatching, reading the bible and exploring her 31 acres of land. Mary loved animals, especially cats.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Don Hawk Jr., Linda Wilson, Richard (Debra) Hawk, David Hawk, and Paul Hawk; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bernetta Murphy, Pat (Joe) Hawk and Linda Dunfurd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Hawk, whom she married September 19, 1955, and who passed on July 20, 2022; a son-in-law, Joe; a great-grandchild, Raelynn; a brother, Burnell; and sisters, Betty, Ellen, Molly, and Bernice.

A private family service will be held.
