Mary A. Kress

Mary Agnes Kress, age 95, formerly of Alliance and Louisville, passed away at 2:35 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2017, at Allay Senior Care in Canton.
She was born September 27, 1921, in Lewisville, Ohio, to Charles and Gertrude (Crock) Zwick.
A member of the Regina Coeli Catholic Church, Mary had also been active in the Alliance Senior Center and George D. Worth American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary was previously employed as a department manager for the former Hecks Department Store. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Leslie) Kress of Anderson, South Carolina, Beverly (John) Yaggi and Donna (John) Zupanic, both of Alliance, William (Arlene) Kress of Burleson, Texas, Dwight (Rhonda) Kress of Louisville, Linda (Thomas) Deland of Broomfield, Colorado and Patricia (Greg) Nutial of Alliance; brother, Charles Zwick Jr., of Caldwell, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert L. "Shorty" Kress, whom she married November 29, 1941 and who died November 2, 2010; grandson, Tommy Deland; brother, Carl Zwick; and sisters, Ella Smithberger, Edna Bjorkman and Gertrude Sorg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday August 29, 2017 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
