Mary Lou (Baker) Milburn, age 75, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord at 2:50 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born April 25, 1939, in Alliance, Ohio, to Glen and Mary (Donohoe) Baker.
Mary Lou was a 1957 graduate of Alliance High School. She was a member of the Alliance Baptist Temple and a former Sunday school teacher in the Beginners Department.
She was formerly employed at Alliance Baptist Temple Tots and F.E. Schumacher Company in Hartville. A member of the Stark County Rose Society, she loved taking care of her roses. She also liked to travel and swing on her porch, listening to her wind chimes, watching storms and the water pond which had been made by her husband. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and accepted all children as her own.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Schmucker of Alliance; two sons, John "Skip" (Judy) Milburn of Alliance, and Glen (Janet) Milburn of Alliance; seven grandchildren, Denise, John Jr., Glen Jr., Cody Allan, Ashley, Jessica and Rebecca; four great-grandchildren, Brady, Emmanuel, Kendra and Aiden; three sisters, Glenna (Larry) Ray, Bev (Dave) Ray and Margaret (Chuck) Bittner; a brother, Dave (Chris) Baker; and her pet dog, "Spike".
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, William W. "Chief" Milburn, whom she married April 25, 1964 and who died April 24, 2006;
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, at Alliance Baptist Temple with Pastor Randy Payne officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
