Mary Elizabeth Osborne, age 94, of Alliance died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Sterling House of Alliance.
She was born in Hopedale, Ohio October 18, 1914 to Clarence and Elosia (Copeland) Carson.
A graduate of Cadiz High School, she attended Mount Union College. Mary was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church, Alliance Woman's Club, Mt. Union Woman's Club, and Alliance Garden Club. Also, Mrs. Osborne was a volunteer at the Alliance Community Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She was also a member of NADA and Postscript.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Tom) Fox of Alliance, OH; grandson, Michael (Robyn) Fox of Canal Fulton, OH; granddaughter, Amy (Wayne) Denny of Alliance, OH; five great grandchildren, Madeleine, Megan, and Caroline Denny, Felicia Korosa, and Carson Fox; sister-in-law, Katherine Osborne of Canton, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, N. Yost Osborne, whom she married on September 9, 1939 and who died on September 17, 1988, and a sister, Harriet Carson who died in 1912.
Private family service will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyte Wilhelm of Union Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park.
