Mary F. Ruff, age 87, of Alliance, passed away at 4 a.m., Friday, January 16, 2015, at Canterbury Villa.
She was born April 7, 1927, in Canton, Ohio, to Elmer and Ethel (Gotschall) Amstutz.
Mary was a 1946 graduate of Carrolton High School and received her Bachelor Degree from Mount Union College and attended Ohio State University.
She was an elementary and music teacher in the Alliance School System and retired in 1985 after teaching for 30 years.
A member of Christ United Methodist church she was also involved with Eastern Star and the Elks Widows Club.
Her hobbies included working on her computer.
Survivors include her sons, Gregory (Marilyn) Ruff of Alliance and Bradley Ruff of Indiana; two grandchildren, Randall (Molly) and Jeffrey Ruff; sister, Barbara Jamison of Minerva, sister-in-law Mary Ruff of Alliance, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Gerald Ruff whom she married July 6, 1952 and who died May 29, 2009.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home co-officiated by Rev. Stephanie Lee and Rev. Chris Martin. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
