Mary Catherine Stone

Mary Catherine (Michl) Stone, age 82, of Alliance, died January 16, 2019 at her residence at Danbury Senior Living.
She was born November 25, 1936 in Stow, Ohio, the daughter of Nicholas P. and Mary T. (Gresh) Michl.
After graduation from Stow High School, she was employed by the Ohio State Highway Department, and moved to Alliance following her marriage to Atty. Robert H. Stone in 1959. Once her children were raised, she worked for the Alliance City Schools system as a middle and elementary school librarian.
She dedicated her life to her family and home, maintained her beautifully landscaped yard, and adored bluebells, ferns, and hummingbirds. She will be forever loved as a devoted wife, sister, mother, and "Nanny."
She is survived by a daughter, Amelia L. (Michael) Johanson of Medina; a son, Atty. Robert H. Stone, Jr. of Alliance; and a sister, Margaret M. Bogdanowicz of Alliance; ten grandchildren, Carrie (Chris) Tucker, Cassie, Anna, and Emma Gabelt, Noah, Chase, and Ellis Johanson, and Benjamin, Lucas, and Cecilia Stone; and five great-grandchildren, Aaron and Ellie Tucker, Ezra McIntosh, and Mack and Joanie George; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Elizabeth K. Gabelt of Alliance; three brothers, Richard Michl of Stow, Thomas Michl of Arkansas, and Girard Michl of Cuyahoga Falls; two sisters, Jean Rowan of Florida and Dorothy Dooper of Dublin, Ohio.
Per Mary's request, no services will be held.
