Mary Wilma Tallman, age 77, of Alliance, passed away at 3:00 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2010 at her home.
She was born December 30, 1932, in Woodsfield, Ohio, to Charles and Mary (Conger) Steen.
Mary was a member of the VFW Post 1036 of Sebring Ladies Auxiliary and was an avid bowler. She loved cooking, and being with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Seifert of Alliance and Gloria (Michael) Kovacik of Minerva; grandchildren, Heidi Hoffmeyer and Curt Gehret; nine great grandchildren, Jason and Justin Battle, Katelyn, Matthew, Andrew and Travis Hoffmeyer, and Kaylee, Alyson and Jason Gehret; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Allen Tallman, whom she married February 4, 1948, and who died February 26, 2010; sisters, Ann Kinney, Opal Windlen, Gurtrude Hooper; and brothers, Therman Steen, Oscar Steen and Hershel Steen.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Ruble of the First Church of God in Warren officiating. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg Ave. Suite 106, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
