Mary E. West, age 81, of Alliance, passed away at 3:17 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2011, at her home.
She was born December 25, 1929, in East Liverpool, OH to Ernest and Grace (Gamble) Howard.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Mary was a waitress at Perkins Pancake House for 25 years and previously worked at the Markethouse in Alliance and TRW in Minerva.
She was a member of the Southside Church of God. She was an avid reader, loved spending time with her grandchildren, and her dogs.
Survivors include children; Rose A. (Robin) Wright of Alliance, Paula (Larry) Stephenson of Alliance, Ernie (Sharon) West of Homeworth and Gary (Elizabeth) West of Sebring; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way; siblings, John (Rose) Howard of Sebring and William Howard of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul W. West whom died December 8, 2000; and sister, Jane Cook.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2011, at Southside Church of God with Pastor Dave Storlie officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
