Mathilda "Tillie" Ameser

Mathilda "Tillie" Ameser, age 99, of Alliance, passed away at 12:45 a.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Brookdale Alliance Assisted Living.
She was born October 24, 1918, in Atwater, Ohio, to William "Carl" and Emma (Emplit) Lawrence.
Tillie was a 1937 Alliance High School graduate and formerly employed at O'Neil's Department Store and the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services.
A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, she also belonged to the Saxon Club and several bridge clubs. She loved playing cards, especially bridge; and enjoyed bowling, golfing and crocheting.
Survivors include her children, Carol (Frank) Woolf and Jeanne McLeod, both of Alliance, Lois (Jim) Cunningham of Minerva, Marian Miller of New York and Mike (Lynn) Ameser of New Jersey; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael Ameser who died in 1985; son, Mark Ameser; and a sister, Carol Sampson.
Services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with The Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 at Highland Memorial Park.
