Maurine Bateman

Maurine Witte Bateman age 84 of Alliance died at 5:32 p.m. June 20, 2003 at Alliance Community Hospital, from complications following hip surgery.
Mrs. Bateman was born August 10, 1918 in Lowden, Iowa to Otto and Alma (Sleuter) Schneider. She graduated from Lowden Sr. High School, and lived in the Alliance area since 1963.
Mrs. Bateman was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and was an avid card player. She enjoyed spending her spare time with her family.
She is survived by three sons; Verlynn W. Witte of Marlboro Township, Wylan W. Witte of Alliance, and Luther "Luke" Witte of Charlotte, North Carolina, eight grandchildren, and two brothers Myron Schneider and Robert Schneider.
Mrs. Bateman was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Wayne Witte, and her second husband, Ted Bateman, one brother Allen, one infant sister, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, with Pastor Kenneth Price officiating. Friends may call from 10:30 - 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be in Lowden Cemetery in Lowden, Iowa.
