Max E. Sutton, age 66, of Minerva, passed away at 4:50 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2016, at his home after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
He was born April 18, 1950, in Alliance to Stanley and Virginia (Siddell) Sutton and was a 1968 graduate of Marlington High School.
Max honorably served in the U.S. Army and retired from Republic Steel after 28 years of service.
A member of Alliance Salem United Methodist Church, Max enjoyed participating in horse pulling contests, NASCAR, hunting, fishing and racing pigeons.
Survivors include his mother; fiancée, Helen Nelson of Minerva; step-mother, Nancy Sutton of Homeworth; step-sister, Lori Palmer of Paris; and nephews, Lane and Logan Palmer.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Alliance Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Neil Orchard officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Salem Greenlawn Cemetery.
