Maxine L. Shade, age 81 of Alterra Sterling House in Alliance, went home to be with the Lord at 7:36 a.m. Sunday January 2, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born July 13, 1923, in East Liverpool, Ohio to Clarence and Mabel (Lampe) Bostwick. Mrs. Shade lived most of her life in the Alliance area and attended Sebring High School.
She was employed by Modern China Company in Sebring, and later worked for the former O'Neil's of Alliance.
Mrs. Shade was a member of the First Church of God, its Wednesday Morning Prayer Group, Twilighters, Women of the Church of God, and taught Sunday school for many years.
She was also a member of the Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary, working in the Gift Shop, and enjoyed gardening and quilt making.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie (Angelo) Goegan of Alliance, Patricia (Gar) Trusley of Westerville, Ohio; three sons, Larry L. (Donna) Shade of Alliance, Richard (Carolyn) Shade of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Brian (Lisa) Shade of Lordstown, Ohio, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Mathews of Salem, one brother, Bernard Bostwick of Westville, Ohio, one brother-in-law, Roy (Wanda) Shade of Atwater, many nieces and nephews and many friends of the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence L. Shade, whom she married Dec. 24, 1940 and who died June 20, 1999, and one brother Ralph Bostwick.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Church of God with Pastor Larry Murphy officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
