Melanie Ann Vien

It is with great sorrow that the family of Melanie Ann Vien announces her passing on May 26, 2022 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.

Melanie graduated from Alliance High School in 1982 and attended Mount Union College, where she excelled in French language studies. Her life’s adventures then took her out west to Nevada and California, where she worked as a bikini model and physical therapy assistant before returning to Ohio in 1997.

A friend to many, Melanie will be remembered for her unique sense of humor and her willingness to help in any situation. She was especially sensitive to those in need.

Melanie is survived by her mother, Judith Vien; her father, Robert Whaley (Rita); as well as her siblings, Heidi Crawford (Phil), Keith Vien, Laura Vien, Andrea Vien and Claire Vien (Jim McKeivier).

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Philippe Vien; her brother in law, Dermot Boland; and honorary brother in law, Ron Swiner.

There will be calling hours from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11.  Our family hopes you will join us.
