Merl H. Baughman, age 94, of Alliance died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Oak Hill Manor.
He was born September 11, 1914 in Paris, Ohio to Hosea and Edith (Eberly) Baughman and was a lifelong resident.
Merl was a graduate of Louisville High School, employed as a Locomotive Operator at United Engineering for 15 years until his retirement in 1978 and was a self employed farmer.
He was a member of the Paris Israel United Church of Christ, a member of the Washington Township Ruritans and belonged to the Alliance Senior Center. He enjoyed traveling and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Baughman, whom he married December 5, 1988; stepsons, Tom (Nancy) Fox, and Lee (Linda) Fox, both of Alliance; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Jesse Baughman; and a stepson, Timothy Fox.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at Paris Israel United Church of Christ with Pastor Don George officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
