Mervin J. Hull, age 65, of Deerfield, died at his home Sunday December 17, 2006.
He was born Sept. 26, 1941 in Alliance, Ohio to James Mervin and Flora (Ward) Hull and attended Alliance High School.
Mervin was raised by his Uncle Merle and Aunt Henrietta Hull who have now preceded him in death.
He worked as a welder and carpenter at Morgan Engineering until retiring, and was formerly employed by Royal China of Sebring.
He was a member of the Deerfield Historical Society, and volunteered at the Deerfield Apple Butter Festival making apple butter and working in the hot sausage sandwich booth. He loved people and was always eager to help.
Mervin enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cooking and traveling often, especially over the past ten years. He loved his animals, especially his dogs, My, Freddie and Chevy.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 76, VFW Post 6730, Sebring Masonic Lodge 626, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Tadmor Shrine and member of the Directors Staff. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Tadmor Circus.
Baptized in the First Presbyterian Church, Mr. Hull has left many friends and loved ones; including, his soul mate, Mildred Keller of Deerfield; daughter, Kristy Welsh of Deerfield; three grandchildren, Kelly, Eric and Branden; two nieces, Daniela Bals of Arlington, Va., and Alina Bals of Denver Co.; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Marjorie Bals, and grandson Collin.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Bruno of the First Christian Church officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday; with Masonic Services conducted by the Sebring Masonic Lodge to be held at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
