Michael J. Strata

Michael J. Strata, age 80, of Alliance, died at 8:46 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2005 at his son's home in Sebring, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born Oct. 5, 1925 in Canton, Ohio to Dominic and Mary (Pucci) Strata.
He attended Canton Public Schools and was formerly employed by Stroh's Brewing Company and retired from Alliance Machine Company.
Mr. Strata was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Dante Club. He was a great ballroom dancer, and enjoyed golf, bowling, and was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan.
He was a U.S. Army W.W.II Veteran.
Survivors include three sons, Michael A. Strata of Alliance, Douglas J. (Jody) Strata of Sebring, Gary A. (Sherry) Strata of Alliance; one daughter, Periann (Guy) Kirk of Alliance; eight grandchildren, Eric, Tracy, Derek, Nicholas, Trevor, Katie, Kyle, and Michelle; one great-granddaughter, Angelea; one brother, Albert Strata of Canton; one sister, Theresa Failla of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Nicholas, and one grandson, Mark Strata.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Fr. Donald Feicht officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
