Mildred Hostetler

Mildred C. Hostetler, age 92, died at Community Care Center on November 12, 2016. She was born in Wooster, Ohio the daughter of George and Helen (First) Warner. She was a graduate of Wooster High School and the Wooster Business College and was employed by the Wooster Farm Dairies. She married Rev. David Hostetler in December 1944. After WWII she and her husband established the Doylestown Super Market where she was the corporate treasurer. In Doylestown, she was active in the Methodist Church, Brownies, Girl Scouts, 4H and Band Parents.
Mildred and David were the parents of Judy (Donald) Kingan of Alliance, Sue Hostetler of Minneapolis and Becky (Keith) Christner of Goshen, Indiana. They have five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her husband, her parents, infant daughter, Elizabeth, son-in-law Keith Christner and sister, Rhea Finley, preceded her in death. In addition to her children, she is survived by brother, Robert of Roanoke, Indiana.
Retiring in 1991, Mildred was an active member of Alliance Christ United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Alliance Senior Center and was a member and past president of Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Services will be at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 with Rev. Stephanie Lee and Rev. Chris Martin co-officiating. Burial will be in the Apple Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church of Alliance or the Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary.
