Mildred Popa

Mildred C. (Crist) Popa, age 96, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 following a brief illness.

She was born June 11, 1923 in Sebring, OH and was a 1940 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School.

She lived a good, long life, always kept a youthful spirit and enthusiasm throughout it, whether getting her hair done, shopping for clothes, or dancing and listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Mena Crist; brother Steven Crist Jr.; sisters Anne Popa, Victoria Crist, and Sophie Teeters; and husband A. Howard Popa, who died in 1993.

She is survived by sons, Stephen Popa of Aloha, OR, James Popa of the home, and Christopher (Jose Luis) Popa of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Melanie Kolnick, Elizabeth (Norman) Cooley, Stephen (Carla) Popa Jr., and Vanessa Thomas; great-grandchildren Shaleena, Deidra, Shelby, Austen, Karyssa, Duke, Joshua, Cody, Alex, and Anthony; two great-great-grandchildren Abigail and Annabella, and one more on the way; nieces Carolyn (Larry) Frank, Cheryl (Primo) Citino, Margie (Danny) Engle, Diane (David) Kieffer, Judy (Dick) Kirby, Mary (Frank) Getz, and Patty Popa; nephews, Geoffrey Fox and Terry Popa; and cousin Elizabeth Steve.

Services will be conducted for immediate family only, with interment to follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
