Miriam Dregich, age 83, of Alliance, passed away at 6:40 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Community Care Center.
She was born June 3, 1930, in Alliance, Ohio, to Fredrick and Isabel (Thomlinson) Whitaker.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Miriam was formerly employed by Alliance Manufacturing.
She enjoyed traveling with her friend, Betty Haidet, and reading, and loved shopping, her pet poodles, and spending time with her family. She was known for her ornery sense of humor.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Dregich of Alliance, whom she married August 19, 1950; daughters, Joann (David) Ream Sr., Dawn (John) Stauffenger, and Kim (Ray) Muniz; son, Gordon Dregich, II; all of Alliance; eleven grandchildren; special granddaughter, Amy, who helped with her care; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Bev) Whitaker of Mansfield.
Miriam was preceded in death by her parents; her precious daughter, Jill Kennedy; two brothers; and three sisters.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
