Miron Cornea, age 87, of Alliance, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital.
Miron was born December 6, 1921 in Romania.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cornea to whom he was married to for 61 years; two daughters, Georgeta and her husband Liviu (Lee) Barcutian, and Lucy and her husband, Dr. Romeo Craciun; three grandchildren, Antonela Barcutian of Washington, DC, Maureen and her husband, Dr. John Cleator of Nashville, Tennessee and Dr. Raymond Craciun of New York; great-granddaughter, Lauren Cleator of Nashville; sister, Maria of Romania and sister-in-law, Helen and her husband George Blebea of Alliance and her family; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, April 10, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. with Saracusta at 1:30 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave. Alliance, Ohio, 44601. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Theodore Romanian Catholic Church, 820 S. Linden Ave. with Most Rev. Bishop John Michael Botean, Rt. Rev. Monsignor Gregory Duma, and Rev. Father Ovidiu Marginean officiating. Interment will be at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Theodore Romanian Catholic Church, 820 S. Linden Ave, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
