Modena F. Duckworth

Modena F. Duckworth, age 89, of Alliance passed away at Altercare of Alliance on February 3, 2021.

She was born on September 30, 1931 in Fairfield County to John E. and Grace (Finley) Chapman.

Modena was a 1951 graduate of Hannah High school in Milton, West Virginia. She enjoyed needle work, reading the bible and spending time in her yard, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Modena was a member of Turning Point Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John H. Duckworth, Jerry E. (Tina) Duckworth and James W. (Jennifer) Duckworth; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bonnie Chapman; sister, Lois Duncan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max E. Duckworth, whom she married on April 3, 1954 and who passed on March 5, 1989; brothers, John, Bill and Pete Chapman; a sister, Maxine Adams; and brother-in-law, Randall Duncan.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Lanham officiating. Friends may call one hour prior.
