Morris Gobeli

Morris J. "Moe" Gobeli age 75 of Alliance, died at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday at Alliance Community Hospital.
Mr. Gobeli was born in Baden, Pennsylvania on April 21, 1929 to Christ and Freeda (Wyss) Gobeli, and lived in Alliance since 1932.
A January 1947 graduate of Alliance High School, he retired in 1991 after working as a telephone construction lineman for Ohio Bell/Ameritech for 36 years.
Mr. Gobeli was a member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ, A.A.R.P., Telephone Pioneers, and the C.W.A. Union (Communications Workers of America).
A U.S. Army Signal Corps Veteran, Mr. Gobeli served in Korea building telephone lines.
Mr. Gobeli is survived by his wife Carol (Hurford) Gobeli, whom he married in 1958, one daughter Susan (Douglas) Edwards of Columbus, and one son Christopher (Rose) Gobeli, of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Leland Gobeli in 1989, and one infant brother Richard.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
