Myrtle Marie Rittenhouse, age 80, of Bonita Springs, Fla, joined her sister, Wilma Hardy, in heaven at 7:08 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011.
She was born April 6, 1930, in Sebring, Oh., to Zephia B. "Bert" and Myrtle (Sutcliff) Martin and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
Myrtle was a 1948 graduate of Alliance High School. She and her husband, Jim, owned and operated Stor-Safe Storage Co. of Alliance. She was also a member of the First Christian Church
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James S. Rittenhouse, Jr., of Alliance, whom she married November 28, 1949; daughters, Cynthia (James) Schmitt of Uniontown, Oh., Penny (Thomas) Truesdale of Defiance, Oh. and Terri (Blaise) Early of Stuart, Fla; sons, Jerry (Debbie) Rittenhouse of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Ted (Patrice) Rittenhouse of Alliance; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma (Milt) Vrudney of Deerfield, Oh., Beverly (Hank) Wurgler of Anaheim, Calif, Sally (David) Sankey of Tx., Kay (David) Boyle of Ind. and Mary (James) McGeehen of Alliance; and brother, Donald (Diane) Martin of Alliance.
"Myrt" will be remembered by all for her spirit of life and warm sense of humor.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Sue DeHoff officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
