Nancy J. Adkins

Nancy J. Adkins, age 78, of Alliance, passed away at 5:20 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center with family beside her listening to her music.
She was born September 4, 1938, in Fairmount, West Virginia, to Nacy and Mildred (Summers) Rowe.
Nancy graduated from Alliance High School in the class of 1957. She was employed by Denny Albert & Shaffer's Restaurant as a cook and also as cashier for Korosky's Korner in Alliance.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, and grandchildren, watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers, and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her children, Randal (Mary) Leeson of Stow; Cynthia (Todd) Leeson of Alliance; Jeffrey Leeson of Alliance; David (Jeannie) Adkins of Glen Burnie, Maryland; and Melanie Adkins of Canton; her special granddaughter, Chandra (Teré) Wilkes, whom she raised as her own; granddaughters, Pamela, Cara, Kayla, and DeMicka; grandsons, Derek, Charles, DeMarcus and DeJon, great-grandsons, Kaine, Teré, Josiah, Devine, and Avanté; and great-granddaughter, Hazel.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nacy Rowe; mother, Mildred Rowe; husband, Bernie Adkins, whom she married January 29, 1971; and sisters, Virginia Davis, Doris Harsh, and Shirley Knapp.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. James K. McCurdy officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2016, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
