Nancy L. (Sigman) Fedor, age 69, of Alliance died at 2:08 p.m. Thursday April 16, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born January 18, 1940 in Mansfield, Ohio to Herbert and Thelma (Poland) Sigman and was a resident of the Alliance area since 1941.
Nancy was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church since 1954 and received a certificate for fifty years of membership in 2004. She participated in the church choirs from childhood through 1984 and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She also served as a Deacon and was past member of the board of directors for preschool.
Nancy graduated from Alliance High School in the class of 1958. She enjoyed the many friendships acquired and renewed while working on the reunion committees and attending the reunions. She enjoyed volunteering in the area school systems.
While working at the Alliance Machine Company, Nancy met her husband through friend and co-worker, Marion Barnes. Nancy and Terry married August 3, 1963 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Alliance by the Rev. Phillip V. Ferguson.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Terry Fedor; sons, Terry (Sheri) of Chagrin Falls, Brian (Maureen) of Madison, and Mark (Michelle) of Hartville; grandchildren, Jacob, Jonathan, Colin, David, Courtney, Elizabeth, Taylor, Logan, Claire and Amanda; brothers, James (Delia) Sigman of Tampa, Florida, Earl (Josephine) Sigman of Charlotte, North Carolina and Kenneth (Mary) Sigman of Beloit; and several cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at First United Presbyterian Church with Pastor James McCurdy officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
