Nancy B. (Bickford) Fitzelle, age 88, of Alliance, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at her home.
She was born December 16, 1924, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Edwin and Lucy (Bell) Bickford, and grew up in Rochester, New York.
Nancy graduated from Genesee Hospital School of Nursing, and was employed as a registered nurse.
She came to Alliance in 1953 with her late husband, David when he started his medical practice.
A member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Nancy was also a member of Coterie, Sorosis, Alliance Woman's Club, Welkins Club, and a former Alliance Country Club member.
Nancy enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting, sailing and tennis, but her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, William Fitzelle of Tallahassee, Fla. and George (Marcie) Fitzelle of Alliance; two daughters, Patricia (Christopher) Fogle of Westerville, OH and Lucy Fitzelle of Alliance; five grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia (Esmond) Fogle of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Dr. David T. Fitzelle, who died December 11, 2010; and a brother, Edwin Bickford.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jim McCurdy officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
