Naomi Elizabeth Mason, age 87, of Alliance died at 3:15 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at Roselawn Terrace.
She was born March 10, 1923 in New Matamoras, Ohio, to Oren Brice and Alice Marie (Vaughn) Kennedy and has resided in the Alliance area since 1946.
Naomi graduated from Troy High School in Coolville, Ohio. She worked for the Department of Commerce in Washington D.C. before marrying Dr. Mason and moving to Alliance. She also worked for the former Alliance City Hospital.
Naomi enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed antiquing.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Celina Frisby of San Diego, California; sons, Gregory O. Mason of Edgewood, Maryland and Charles L. Mason of Alliance; grandchildren, Karyn Nicole Frisby (Michael Morrell) of San Diego, California, Robyn Renee (Daniel) Miller, of Hawaii, Joseph Walter Mason and Bobbi Elizabeth Mason, both of Rochester, New York; four great-grandchildren, Nash Morrell, Maverick Morrell, Troy Miller, and Melia Miller; and a sister, Alice Faye Talley of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph W. Mason Jr. whom she married February 16, 1946 and who died February 17, 2002; a son, Joseph W. Mason III; brother, Paul Kennedy and a sister, Eileen Walling.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Monsignor James R. Kolp officiating. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
