Naton D. "Nate" Leslie Sr., age 80 of Alliance, passed away at 12:35 a.m. Friday June 11, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital from complications of Parkinson's disease.
He was born June 13, 1929 in Mahoning, Pennsylvania to James D. and Margaret (Foster) Leslie and grew up in Clarion, Pa.
A 1947 graduate of Clarion High School, Mr. Leslie was employed as an electrician for Republic Steel in Warren, and later retired from Packard Electric as a Journeyman electrician in 1991.
Nate attended Union Avenue United Methodist Church.
Having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, Nate and was a member of the Amvets Post 290 in Vienna, Ohio; and also belonged to the Moose Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors; and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Margaret "Peggy" (Shreckengost) Leslie, whom he married Oct. 2, 1950; daughter, LueAnn (Frank) Morocco of Alliance; son, Dr. Naton (Sue) Leslie Jr. of Ballston Spa, New York; and grandson, Dr. Frank (Dr. Rachael) Morocco of Shaker Heights, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Rebecca Innerst of Union Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
