Neal D. Hunt, age 86, of Sebring, formerly of Alliance, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Crandall Medical Center.
He was born November 26, 1925, in Alliance, to Carl and Estella (Lynch) Hunt.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Neal retired from Giant Eagle (formerly Buckeye Village) in September of 2000, and worked for Purity Dairy, and Superior Dairy. He also was manager at Jay's Market and worked with his father at Hunt's Market.
Neal was a member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church and the former Alliance Exchange Club. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the medical corps.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Elizabeth (Simpson) Hunt, whom he married February 24, 1952; four children, Kathy (Dominic) Danesi of Alliance, Gary Hunt of Bakersfield, Calif., Nancy Woolf (Ted McCollins) of Massillon and Sue (Bruce) Bowman of Alliance; six grandchildren Jen, Dominic J., Matthew, Kelly, Cassie; and Eric; one great-granddaughter, Sophia; and Hunter and Gunner who thought of Neal as their great-grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ralph Edward Hunt and Blaine Ray Hunt.
A private service will be held, with interment at Highland Memorial Park.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Monday, May 7, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m.
