Nina H. Schwartz, age 93 of Alliance, died at her home at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2005.
She was born Aug. 17, 1912 in Minerva, Ohio to Charles H. and Elizabeth (Ridgeway) Schwartz.
Miss Schwartz graduated from Alliance High School and was the former owner of the Eynon-Guthrie Insurance Agency and was the first woman realtor in Alliance.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Senior Disciples and Crusaders Sunday School Class. She was a former treasurer of the board of trustees for 50 years
She was also a member of the YWCA, Alliance Woman's Club, Alliance Senior Center, and a 60 year member of the Alliance Quota Club.
Nina was an avid golfer and Senior Bridge Grandmaster.
Survivors include five nieces, Norma Jean Martin, Barbara Jane Watts, Kay Hobbs, Nancy Summers, and Delores Danby, all of Alliance; one nephew, Charles Meyer of Beaverton, Oregon; grandniece, Linda Ferguson of Alliance; grandnephew, Jeffrey Hobbs of Alliance; sister-in-law, Louise Schwartz of Poland, Ohio; as well as many other grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Forrest and Meryl Schwartz, and one nephew, Brian Schwartz.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Bruno officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
