Nira B. (McIe) Burden, age 79, of Alliance, died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Canterbury Villa.
She was born October 17, 1933, in Diana, West Virginia, to John A. and Mary V. (McCourt) McIe.
Nira was retired from French-Saxon Pottery in Sebring, OH where she worked as a handler. She also liked to crochet and do needlework.
Survivors include her sons, James (Barb) Burden of Minerva and Gary Burden of Youngstown; grandsons, Charles Burden of Indiana and Benjamin Burden of North Canton; two great grandchildren; and one brother, Josh McIe of Webster Springs, WV.
Nira was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Burden, whom she married on February 16, 1957 and who died on January 5, 2010; sisters, Rose, Eleanor and Gracie; and brother, Jack.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday November 15, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
